Navi Mumbai International Airport
Navi Mumbai International Airport is a
proposed greenfield international airport, to be built in the
Kopra-Panvel area of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in India. The
airport is being built through public-private partnership (PPP). The sea
– shore land required is about 11.4 km2 for the core airport activity
and will have two parallel runways each 3700 metres long. It is to be
located on highway NH 4B near Panvel, about 35 km from the existing
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The airport will have a
terminal area of 250,000 m2 and a cargo area of 100,000 m2 and handle
50-55 million passengers annually.
Navi Mumbai Metro – Development of Viaduct and segment installations
The ambitious metro rail project of Navi
Mumbai is on target and CIDCO is confident of completing it by June
2014. The services are expected to begin by May 2015, once all the
systems are in place. Several aspects of the project are expected to be
taken up or will be completed in 2013. The metro line in the first phase
will be laid between Belapurand Pendhar. The Metro railway project has
been divided into 4 parts i.e. viaduct, stations, depot and systems. In
the first stage work is underway for construction of viaducts which are
expected to be completed in 2013.
The first phase of the project has been
taken up in two parts. One is between Belapur and sector-14, Kharghar
and the second part is between sector 14, Kharghar to Pendhar. There
have been lots of meetings held so far wherein various issues have been
taken up.
The total cost of the Phase-1 of the metro project is approximately Rs.2000crores.
Rs 280 crore Exhibition cum Business centre by next year
The construction of the state of the art
exhibition cum business centre is in full swing at Vashi. By next year,
the city will have the first of its kind exhibition and business centre
in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The project is being developed by CIDCO at
Sector 30 Aof Vashi, next to Sion-Panvel expressway. Speaking on the
progress of the project, CIDCO Public Relations Officer Dr. Mohan Ninawe
said, “Most of the RCC work, work on the business hall and structural
work have been completed. Finishing work has commenced and the
auditorium should be ready soon for the project to be completely ready
by next year.”
Golf Course-11 holes
ready-launched recently
CIDCO has developed a signature gold
course of international standards in Kharghar. Located in sector 22 of
Kharghar, the proposed golf course is spread over an area of 103
hectares approximately.
Conceptualized as a 18 hole golf course
the project shall include Club house, 5 star hotel. Golf academy (for
training purposes) and high class residential developments on peripheral
area. The chosen site has an idyllic setting with the Pandav waterfalls
as back drop and overview of the 80 ha central park – another
international standard project being developed by the corporation.
Central Park Phase 1 open with full development
The wait for a tourist spot in the city
is finally getting over. The first phase of Central park, the ambitious
project of CIDCO is nearing completion and should be ready soon. Being
developed rapidly as a recreational space of the highest order, the
central Park is spread over an area of 80 hectares and encompasses
sectors 23,24 and 25 of the scenic Kharghar node. Work on the project
had begun in June 2007. The Central Park will bea modern park
synthesizing the concepts ofthe famous Hyde Park of London and the
Central Park of New York. The park will host a number of recreational
facilities for the visitors.
