NAVI MUMBAI: Cidco is likely to float the global tender of request for
qualification (RFQ) by the end of this month. The tender will be floated
to appoint a strategic partner for developing the proposed Rs15,000
crore international airport at Panvel.
According to sources, the RFQ was supposed to have been floated by the first week of December.
RFQ is described as a pre-bid process and involves evaluating the pre-qualification criterion of bidders.
Those who qualify will then have to bid for the second phase - request
for proposal (RFP), that includes the technical aspects and those
qualifying will be asked to make the commercial bid.
The
project report was prepared by the principal consultant M/s Louis
Berger. It was forwarded to the chief secretary-led project monitoring
and implantation committee. But there was a delay in forwarding the
report to the civil aviation ministry and it was expected to be sent by
Monday.
The report is likely to get the final nod very soon as
several officials from the civil aviation ministry are part of the state
apex committee, which has already approved it.
Cidco will go ahead with the tendering process only after the final approval from the civil aviation ministry.
The project has been planned in four phases. But the appointment of a
strategic partner would be for the four-phase development of the Rs
15,000 crore airport project, with an investment of around Rs 5,000
crore for the first phase. The airport project involves 2,268 hectares -
1,160 for core aeronautical area and 1,108 for outside aeronautical
area.
